About Rotaract

Rotract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are community-based or university-based clubs and are sponsored by a local Rotary Club. The Quad Cities is proud to have our own local Rotaract club sponsored by the Moline Rotary.

The first Rotaract club chartered was in Charlotte, North Carolina on 13 March 1968. Since then, Rotaract has grown to more than 7,600 clubs in 158 countries. It has truly become an international network of young professionals.

Our Rotaract club focuses not only on the needs of our community but also supports international projects. Along with the focus on service, Rotaract clubs also strive to widen the personal and professional contacts of the members, encourage professional and leadership development, undertake service projects and increase the understanding of the world for each Rotaract member.

Over the past year, our local Rotaract club has impacted our community in a variety of ways. They have formed close relationships with the other young professional groups in the Quad Cities such as the Quad City Chamber’s YPN group and the Davenport One’s NEXT Young Professional Group.

As a chapter, our Rotaract club has worked on the following service projects:

  • Rebuilding Together
  • Moline Rotary Prospect Park Project
  • John Lewis Coffee Shop Meal Site
  • Vision 2005 Project- an effort to get input from people age 20 to 40 in the Quad Cities to decide what the QCA really needs to attract and keep young talent
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Moline Butterworth Parkway clean-up
